Yet Even More Resolutions for Apartment Renters to Follow

Greetings, apartment renters! Welcome to our third chapter in the story of keeping to your resolutions for the rest of the year.

Greetings, apartment renters! Welcome to our third chapter in the story of keeping to your resolutions for the rest of the year. Even though it is traditionally accepted for everyone to vow to improve their lives each January, you should not feel obligated to wait this long.

Double Down on Decluttering

One of the problems that many apartment renters face is just what to do with all of their stuff. Packing up and moving can be a hard process to complete, even when you are excited about a new beginning. So even if you aren’t currently focusing on unpacking after moving into a new place, go on a decluttering spree anyway. When you live in a place that isn’t very cluttered, you’ll notice that your stress and anxiety levels are much more manageable. Human beings are sponges for their environment, and normal life is already chaotic enough. Donate what items you no longer need or clothes and shoes that don’t fit. If there’s something you cannot donate, consider giving it away to friends and family.

Designate a Weekly Task Basket

This is perhaps one of the most useful suggestions we have for you. If you know that you tend to be absent-minded, having a whiteboard on your wall can help you stay on track. That’s because it gives you a visual reminder of all of the chores and such that you need to get done throughout that week. Likewise, a weekly task basket can help you capture loose pieces of mail that have gone unopened – like those bills you’re trying your best to ignore, for instance!

Meditate on the Merits of Minimalism

The minimalist aesthetic is catching on with many residents, especially those who are younger or those who just want to keep things clean and simple. Remove big furniture and downsize because big parties and other special occasions are not likely to happen all that often, even if there was no pandemic.

Realize the Value of Rest and Relaxation

You need some downtime. Alone time and self-care routines can help you recharge. Roommates – whether or not they are related to you – pets, and children can be exhausting and you’ve got to be able to rest and relax. Maybe get back into your reading list?

Treat Yourself!

Finally, don’t hesitate to splurge on something frivolous from time to time. As exuberantly said in the sitcom Parks & Recreation, “treat yourself!”
