Festive Ways to Decorate Your Luxury Apartment This Holiday Season

If this is your first holiday in a luxury apartment complex, then here are some ideas for how to decorate and get in the spirit of the season!

Apartment living can be incredibly fun and fulfilling. One of the best times of the year is when fall arrives: October brings us the spooky season in the run-up to Halloween; November focuses on the Thanksgiving feast; and finally, there is Christmas and the other December holidays, such as Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. If this is your first holiday in a luxury apartment complex, then here are some ideas for how to decorate and get in the spirit of the season!

Use Smaller Trees

Let’s say that you’ve always dreamed of having a full-sized Christmas tree covered in lights and ornaments and other adornments. Even in the most spacious and luxurious apartment spaces, that might not be entirely possible. Luckily, there is a solution: simply use smaller trees instead. Even if you are worried about the amount of floor space you have available, that doesn’t need to be an obstacle either – there are trees compact enough to be placed on tables, dressers, and shelves.

Think About Using Artwork

Artwork can really tie a room together. When it comes down to it, any type of decoration can be an amazing focal point, but art in particular has long been a favorite. Landscapes and cheerful sayings or puns can help inject some joy into your surroundings. Just be sure to check in with your management company or the complex’s rules and regulations regarding wall hangings that could call for nails.

Try Using Throw Pillows

Everyone knows how important the right pillow is when it’s time to get some restful sleep. That said, curling up on the couch while drinking hot chocolate and watching a cute holiday movie can be a fantastic way to feel like your luxury apartment is truly your home. Throw pillows can be used in the living room as well as the bedroom. Choose bright colors and patterns, along with sparkles and glitter. Fleece and faux fur can add to the coziness as well!

Add Sights and Smells

Many memories stick in our minds long after the moment has passed – and this fondness and remembrance of our past is a core building block of the sensation known as nostalgia. Another way to fill your luxury apartment with holiday cheer is to lean into adding as many sights and smells as you can. For example, twinkling lights can be strung along the walls and ceilings, on headboards, and windows. Meanwhile, candles, potpourri, and other room-fragrance enhancers add to the ambiance.

Pump Up the Decor

Lastly, let’s talk about some other decorative motifs you can use in your apartment that have to do with the holidays. By now, you’ve probably taken down the Halloween decorations like pumpkins and skeletons and spiders and replaced them with more generic fall decorations like pies and turkeys and leaf wreaths, even ones that are orange and brown instead of green and red can be hung up on your door or in various places within your home, such as windows and ceilings. Don’t overlook the use of colorful and shiny garlands as well!
